Privacy Policy

1. The short version

MockLab collects the minimum needed to run your account: your email, an optional display name, and the projects and resource schemas you create. Data returned by your mock API endpoints is generated algorithmically from a seed — it's fake, and it isn't personal data about anyone.

2. What we collect

Account data: your email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), optional display name, and interface language preference.
Project data: project names, resource schemas (the field names and types you define), and any records you create or edit through your mock API's write endpoints.
Usage data: a per-project daily request count, used to show you basic traffic on your own dashboard. We don't log the contents of individual requests.

3. What we don't collect

We don't ask for or want real personal data about you or anyone else beyond what's needed to run your account. Records your mock API returns are generated on the fly from a random seed — they aren't derived from, and don't describe, any real person.

4. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. It's necessary for the service to function and isn't used for tracking or advertising.

5. Third parties

We don't sell your data. We use a database provider to store account and project data, and don't share it with anyone else except as required by law.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings — this permanently removes your projects, resources, and any data you've stored. We don't guarantee data durability outside of that; see our Terms of Service for details.
